Product designer working at the intersection of user needs and product strategy.
I design insight-led experiences for the software behind everyday retail.
Addie Benson
While figuring out what I wanted to pursue, I spent a long time assuming I would have to choose between creatively making things and solving technical problems. User experience design turned out to be the field where both are required to make products people can actually use.
Today I design self-checkout software at NCR Voyix, working across retailer, shopper, and attendant facing experiences, including accessibility features that led to two patent applications. I’m passionate about talking to users and customers, and I like the problems that sit between what’s possible and what’s worth building. I do my best work alongside other designers, where a second perspective usually finds what the first one missed.
Outside work you’ll find me at the pottery studio, planning my next trip, or finding a new way to stay active.
